How the United Nations Integrated Youth-Led AI Insights into the 2025 Human Development Report
Advising UNDP on digital transformation, AI, and human-centered development in a rapidly evolving global landscape.
The Problem:
As artificial intelligence accelerates global change, the United Nations Development Programme sought to ensure that the 2025 Human Development Report reflected a people-centered, future-facing perspective—particularly the lived realities and agency of young people navigating digital transformation and AI.
UNDP needed informed, cross-disciplinary insight to help frame how AI could expand human capabilities without deepening inequality, bias, or exclusion.
Our Approach
R3imagine Story Lab founder Anatola Araba was invited to serve as a youth expert advisor, participating in UNDP’s invitation-only consultation convened by the Human Development Report Office and Youth Team.
Drawing from expertise at the intersection of AI, storytelling, culture, and systems thinking, Anatola contributed strategic perspectives on how AI can advance the sustainable development goals.
The advisory work helped translate complex technological shifts into human-centered insights relevant to policymakers, institutions, and global stakeholders.
