Reimagine Education

A blueprint for empowering the imaginations of young people

5 Ways to Reimagine Education

The classroom remains the most radical space of possibility. — bell hooks

Like me, you probably also believe that schools should be more than a place where you’re secretly glad to be sick. Schools should be sanctuaries — for learning, for growth, and for real human connection. Here are five ways you can start:

Ask “What if?” instead of “How so?”

In his book From What Is to What If, Rob Hopkins makes a strong case for the power of these two little words. So, next time a young person confronts you with a bold, ambitious idea, instead of saying “That’s not how things are done.” Ask “What could be possible?”

Show the bigger picture

The most common complaint students make about school is, “This doesn’t matter — I’ll never use this in real life.” So connect the dots. Show how geometry connects to the stars, the forests, the buildings they walk past every day.

Foster experiential learning

Information is forgettable. But experiences stick with us forever. How can you support experiential curriculum that engages the senses to create memorable learning experiences?

Sharpen their greatest tool: imagination

AI is making the bridge between imagination and reality shorter than ever before. That’s why we must foster the critical thinking and creativity that are the driving force behind these technology tools.

Make space for new voices and perspectives

Learning environments often create competition — where students focus on being right, instead of curious. Encourage healthy debate — not to win, but to understand.

Resources

Explore tools, discussion guides, and activities designed to help your community engage with AI critically and creatively. Whether you’re in a classroom, organization, or living room, these resources support collective conversations on what it means to build a responsible AI future — one rooted in care, equity, and imagination.
