How Granada Hills Charter Deployed a Student AI Chatbot and Taught Ethical AI in One Workshop

An interactive Ethical AI + prompt engineering lab that turned student imagination into a real tool: GHC GPT.

The Problem:

Granada Hills Charter’s New Media & Tech Lab students needed practical, future-ready AI literacy—specifically ethical AI, bias awareness, and hands-on skills for using AI in creative media and storytelling. The school wanted a learning experience that went beyond theory and resulted in something students could actually use.

Our Approach

R3imagine delivered a high-energy, hands-on Magic Lab workshop covering what fuels AI, algorithmic bias, environmental impact, and a practical prompt engineering framework. Students also co-designed the concept for a school-specific chatbot—resulting in GHC GPT, a custom AI tool built to support students with real questions and future-facing scenarios.

The Impact:

Over 60 students participated, generating future-of-school insights that were synthesized into a Magic Lab report and translated into an active resource students can continue using. The engagement increased student confidence and agency—helping them see AI not just as a tool to consume, but a system they can question, shape, and use responsibly.
